Hi. If you’re here, it’s probably because you visited this site to read about the game I’m working on, or because you misclicked while searching Google for videos of cats. Don’t worry, it happens to all of us.
I’m a programmer, and depending on who you ask, I’m actually pretty good at it. Some of the code I write is for video games, and some of them have been published. Working on video games is pretty awesome. For a while I got paid to write code for IMVU’s website and client, which are also pretty awesome. These days I spend my time trying to develop independent video games. We’ll see how that works out.
I’ve occasionally been spotted writing, drawing, playing music, and shoving old ladies down staircases. I’m not particularly good at any of those things, but I keep trying anyway, since they’re fun. Especially the last one.
I grew up in Sacramento, CA and got most of my education by reading books in my bedroom at home. I got my high school equivalency certificate, went to college for a couple years to study Computer Science, and then moved to Seattle, WA to work at ArenaNet. I spent a couple years there having a great time working on video games and learning how to write/design good game content, and learning how to write code that isn’t utterly terrible. After that I moved down to the Palo Alto, CA area, where I’m currently sharing an apartment with a hacker.

Damn. I see I parted ways with you too soon to get that sweet about-page link.
I shall now shake my fist impotently in Jeff’s general direction.

Look at the bright side: The name above your comment is a shiny, clickable hyperlink! On the about page! It’s like user generated content, or something. How meta.

I responded to your forum post with a link to the source code and an explanation of the technique. Hope this helps!

Ok thanks,
how did you make the shadows (in Chimaira) feel 3d? With like a 45 degree angle?
